Program Description

MSc degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics is an applied economics program in issues related to agricultural development be it research, outreach, and consultancies. To complete the whole program, students must attend 120 credits hours with 75 practical hours either face-to face or virtual with lectures, submit assignments and/quiz every semester, sit for Mid-exams, attend educational trips, write term papers, sit for end of semester examinations, and produce independently a research paper/thesis with a minimum of 20,000 words excluding the table of contents, tables, and references. The research paper is graded on student’s understanding and use of the following things: defended the proposal successfully, the use of theoretical or empirical model’s analytical models to translate data into comprehensive results, and interpretation of the research findings, conclude and develop the policy statement from such significant findings.

Requirements for Admission

Entry qualification for this program is a relevant Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics or related fields with a credit pass /cGPA of at least 3.00 or equivalent. Candidates with a mere pass /cGPA of not less than 2.60 or equivalent but with vast relevant work experience may also be considered.
