The NEPAD Fish Node is a center of excellence for the coordinating and facilitating of the state of art of research and dissemination on fisheries and Aquaculture in Africa.

 

Vision

Is to use Science, Technology and innovative systems to build and strengthen a network of researchers involved in refining and implementation of projects to enhance fisheries, aquaculture production and biodiversity.”

 

Strategic Goals

1. To facilitate knowledge generation and dissemination, technology development and adoption for improved livelihood and increased incomes for fish farmers, fishers, fish processors and traders

2. To enhance networking of researchers, policy makers and other stakeholders for increased and sustainable fish production in Africa

3. To facilitate policy analysis and dialogue in fisheries and aquaculture for African countries

4. To enhance quality of education and research in fisheries and aquaculture

5. To enhance participation of women and youths in fisheries and aquaculture production and management.
