About Dr MWENIFUMBO Merning

Merning Mwenifumbo Mkomwa is a Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology expert with MSc. In Veterinary studies major Veterinary public Health obtained from Massey University, New Zealand in 2020. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVM) from the University of Zambia. She also holds various certificates obtained from Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in diagnostic parasitology, Surgery and Medicine. She has five years of working experience in lecturing Veterinary related courses at Lilongwe university of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). Her masters research was on Antimicrobial Resistance which has become a global public health concern affecting both animals and humans world-wide. Her research focussed on “Extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) and AmpC β-lactamase (AmpC) producing Escherichia coli in dairy calves from the Canterbury region that were fed waste milk, New Zealand”. Even though this study was done in New Zealand, it can be replicated anywhere. She is skilled in Microsoft Office (including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point), R-package and Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS).
