I, Daimon Kambewa, I am a Social Scientist with passion for agrarian change. I specialize in nature, rural economy and agrarian society nexus. I have experience in rural development (a strategy for socio-economic development suited for predominantly agrarian economies), agricultural extension (a framework for rural development) farmer research and innovation, community-led development, community mobilization, policy processes analysis, social learning and experiential learning. I draw on anthropology and political ecology to study the intersection of rural development/nature and societal facets (culture, institutions, power, social relations, politics and folk knowledge)
Agriculture
My research is multidimensional covering agriculture, customary land tenure, agroecology, indigenous knowledge, natural resources, pandemics (eg HIV/ AIDS). My knowledge, experience and skills are useful for improving extension, development thought/practice and policy, for building a carder of system thinkers, holistic leaders in extension and stewards of rural development, as well as for mentoring rural sociologists, political ecologists and development scholars
