About Mrs NAKANGA Faith

Faith Nakanga is a teacher by profession studying a PhD in Education with UNICAF, holding a master’s degree in Agriculture Education from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) and a bachelor’s degree in Science Education from Mzuzu University (MZUNI) majoring in Chemistry. She has a certificate in Quality Management Systems Development According to ISO 9001:2015 issued by ENVIRO-QUALI CONSULT (EQC) on Manuscript Preparation and Submission. wWith this, she has managed to assist Bunda technicians to produce Procss Mapping Documents and other Quality Assurance Documents which are in progress. Currently, she is working with LUANAR (Bunda Campus) as a Chief laboratory technician in Chemistry. Faith once worked as an adjunct lecturer at Nalikule College of Education where she was teaching, examining and assessing students doing Chemistry Education. By working in the laboratory, she has experience in conducting scientific research that requires analytical skills including the use of in-situ and large laboratory equipment. Amongst the several analysis she has conducted, Faith assists Lilongwe Water Board to analyze sludge samples at Kauma and other sewerage treatment plants under it. Faith also participates in supervision of Agriculture Education students at Bunda College during teaching practice. Besides teaching, Faith has experience in curriculum development such that she participated in the review of the curriculum of Malawi College of Fisheries (MCF) in order to integrate climate change and safety education into its diploma and in-service courses. Before joining LUANAR, Faith taught in the Primary School for 10 years and later in the Secondary School for 6 years. She has a vast experience in interacting with adolescents, using gender-based approach in education and have excellent reporting and presentation skills. She is an ambitious lady eager to advance her career into other challenging opportunities in advancing adolescents wellbeing

Promoting STEM Education in women

I quest to see an increase in the number of women working in science, technology, engineering and Mathematics (STEM) field. As a woman working in a chemistry laboratory, I wish to advance my knowledge in the analytical field and work to encourage other women of the possibilities of to advance in the science field.
