About Dr KACHAMBA Daud

Dr Daud Jones Kachamba has over 15 years of experience in Agriculture, Forestry, Natural Resources Management and Climate Change. He is currently working as the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Natural Resources and as a Senior Lecturer in Forestry Sciences in the Department of Forestry. He has also held the positions of Head and Deputy Head for the Department of Forestry. Daud has accumulated vast international experience having worked for the African Forest Forum (AFF), Nairobi Kenya as a Program Officer for over 4 years on projects addressing the interactions between people, environment, climate change and sustainable forest management in Africa. Prior to joining the University, Daud worked for the Ministry of Agriculture in Malawi, successively as Agricultural Officer and Land Resources Conservation Officer in charge of the dissemination of soil and water conservation technologies and soil fertility Improvement including Agroforestry to field staff and farmers. Through research and consultancies, he has experience in designing activity and project monitoring and evaluation tools, collecting, processing and analyzing data, and preparing respective reports. Daud has excellent oral and written communication skills, with several publications in peer-reviewed journals. Moreover, he has a very good knowledge of the Southern Africa sub-region.
