Samson Pilanazo Katengeza holds a PhD degree in Economics from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Norway, obtained in 2018. He is the Director of Research and Outreach for the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) responsible for providing strategic leadership on the University’s fundamental mission of conducting challenge-led research aimed at promoting a rich quality of life in Malawi and beyond. Samson has been working with LUANAR since 2012 and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2020. He is a Researcher with over 16 years of proven experience in designing and implementing inter-disciplinary research projects and consultancies. His speciality include Agricultural marketing systems, Food systems and rural livelihood, and Agricultural and development economics. Samson is a Board Member of the National Oil Comapany of Malawi (NOCMA), Co-Chairperson for the Agricultural Technology Clearing Committee (ATCC), a body responsible for reviewing and clearing agricultural technologies in Malawi, and a Chairperson for the Board of Governance of Mngwangwa Community Day Secondary School. He also served as a chairperson for LUANAR’s Internal Procurement and Disposal Assets Committee (IPDC) for two years from 2021 to 2023.
