The BVM is a 5 year program the training consists lectures, laboratories, field practices which is based on student centered teaching. The curriculum is organized in to six modules: One year prevet, foundation of veterinary medicine. One year biomedical sciences focusing structure and function from gross microscopic and molecular level. One year Pathobiology dealing with etiological agents, body defense and principle of therapy. Two years of medical, surgical and obstetrical sciences, focusing on food animals. However, working animals, small animals, wild animals, aquatic animals and bees are included. Epidemiology and public health (One health, food hygiene and environmental health) is also offered in to the surgical and medical module. The final year is a research module in which students undertake rotations in clinic, lab, farms and public health modules and undertake a full year research and a thesis for partial fulfilment of BVM.
A Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) is an intensive program focused on diagnosing, treating, and preventing animal diseases. It combines theoretical knowledge in subjects like anatomy and pharmacology with hands-on clinical training. Graduates gain expertise
in managing companion and farm animals, public health, and veterinary surgery, preparing them for careers as veterinarians in animal hospitals, research, government, and animal welfare organizations.
MSCE Certificate or its equivalent with at least six credit passes including English, Mathematics, Biology and Physical Science or Chemistry and Physics.
A level certificate with minimum grade of B in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
*Successful candidates with MSCE certificate will join Foundation Year, and will then proceed to 5 years for the actual programme. Candidates with A level certificate will skip the Foundation Year.
