The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) is inviting applications from suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated existing and prospective PhD students to be considered for PhD Graduate Teaching Assistantship (GTA).

Guided by LUANAR Policy on graduate assistantship, the Graduate Teaching Assistants will be a part of academic and research teams at LUANAR and will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses offered in the departments at Bunda and NRC Campuses.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF GTAS
Under supervision of a major supervisor or any other senior academic member of staff assigned by the Department, a GTA will be governed by the following duties and responsibilities.
1. To deliver a range of teaching and assessment activities, including tutorials, seminars and lectures.
2. To participate in the assessment process, using a variety of methods and techniques and provide effective, timely and appropriate feedback to students to support their learning.
3. To participate in the supervision of undergraduate research, practical work, advising on skills, methods and techniques to assist the transfer of knowledge.
4. To contribute to the ongoing development and design of the curriculum, in a manner that supports a research led and scholarly approach to student learning.
5. To engage in professional development as appropriate and regularly update subject related knowledge base.
6. To undertake limited administrative duties as requested by the Head of Department.
7. To engage in professional development to remain current and ensure application of recent advances in knowledge to teaching.
