POST GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN HIGHER EDUCATION (PGCHE)
The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for admission into this Postgraduate programme for Semester I of the 2025/2026 academic year commencing in August 2025:

PROGRAMME INFORMATION AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The PGCHE targets graduate academic members of staff who are currently serving as
assistant and full lecturers in the university as a capacity building initiative to enable
them fill the requirement for securing a permanent teaching position. The specific
objectives of the programmes are to:
• Build capacity among the unqualified teachers in pedagogical and professional ideals
of teaching and learning.
• Enhance a culture of reflective teaching among the teachers for improved teaching
and learning and professional growth.
• Equip and enhance a spirit of self-improvement among academic staff through their
engagement in action research activities, and
• Foster and enhance lecturers’ skills, knowledge and attitudes for teaching and
learning improvements, among others
As such, the applicant should have a relevant bachelor’s or postgraduate degree
obtained from an accredited institution of higher learning. They also have secured a
teaching position at LUANAR or any other university
