Innocent PANGAPANGA-PHIRI is a Director for the Centre for Agricultural Research and Development (CARD) at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources. He leads research translation and policy influence in areas of agricultural productivity, agri-food systems and transformation, agricultural commercialization, agro-processing, and value chain, resilience, gender, and social inclusivity, natural resource management, energy, and climate change.

Prior to joining the University, Innocent worked in Government for over half a decade, in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs based at the National Statistics Office (NSO). Besides, Innocent has worked as a Policy Analyst (Economics) for the World Bank, the International Center for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF), and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), as well as consulted for the UNDP, WHO, IITA, CIMMYT, CIFOR, and CIRAD. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
