Effective financial management and reporting are central to the success and credibility of donor-funded projects in Malawi. As a research- and policy-oriented institution working with multiple development partners, CARD relies on prudent budgeting, timely expenditure tracking, and strict adherence to donor requirements and institutional policies to ensure efficient resource use. Accurate and timely financial reporting enables CARD to demonstrate accountability and transparency, providing donors with clear evidence that funds are being utilized to deliver high-quality research outputs and development outcomes. These practices not only strengthen donor confidence and support informed management decisions but also facilitate compliance with audit and reporting requirements, thereby enhancing CARD’s institutional reputation, sustainability, and ability to attract future funding.
