A Lecturer in Public Health Nutrition, Zione has over a decade of experience in nutrition research, community programmes, multisector coordination, and collaborative partnerships. Her previous work experience spans social welfare, agriculture, and nutrition donor coordination. She also coordinated Malawi’s Scaling-Up Nutrition (SUN) Operational Research during its roll-out phase and has served as a Design Thinking coach in Innovation Scholars Programmes implemented with Michigan State University in Malawi and Uganda. Actively engaged in national and regional nutrition platforms, she has contributed to Malawi’s National Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Coordination Committee, and, the Micronutrients Technical Working Group Learning Network of Nutrition Surveillance (LeNNS). Committed to evidence generation, capacity building, advocacy, and leadership to advance nutrition in Malawi, her professional achievements include several international fellowships and awards, among them the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) Fellowship, the African Nutrition Leadership Programme (ANLP), IDS Transform Nutrition, Australia Awards Africa, and the COIL Faculty Fellows Program Africa.
