About Mr Abel CHIWATAKWENDA

Abel Chiwatakwenda is a WMO Class One Meteorologist, Lecture in Atmospheric Science and Climatology in Environment and Natural Resources Management Department. Abel has a long professional experience in private school science teaching, government services in climate and weather services with skills in climate forecasting, aviation services and academic teaching research and stakeholder engagement in climate services and disaster risk reduction. Climate data analysis and environmental modelling are also at the core of my expertise He holds a Masters of Climate (2012) from the Australian National University (higher credit-2013), and a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Management and Development(Distinction-2012) from the same institution. Abel also holds a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Nairobi(2002). His undergraduate training was done at the University of Malawi, Chancellor College where he graduated with Bachelor of Science degree (Physics and Applied Mathematics).
