Overview
Mr Jonathan Tanganyika is an upcoming scientist and researcher who is currently a Senior Lecturer in Beef Production and Meat Science in the Animal Science Department, Bunda Campus of the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). Academically, currently Mr. Tanganyika is a PhD in Animal Science student at the University of Pretoria, Republic of South Africa. He has a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science Degrees in Animal Science from Bunda Campus of the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), Malawi. Before joining Bunda, he went to the Natural Resources College where he studied Veterinary Science for two years. He has also attended various short courses to boost his specialisation. Carrier wise, Mr. Tanganyika worked at a field Assistant Veterinary Officer (AVO) in the government for 4 years, as a Technician and Lecturer in Animal Science related courses at Bunda Campus (2015 to date). Apart from teaching students, Mr. Tanganyika has collaborated and conducted research in his field and coordinated both local and international funded research projects. His focus is to carry out more research in the areas of Meat Hygiene, Animal Behaviour and Welfare and production of nonconventional livestock species.
