Sera Gondwe is a business economist and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agribusiness Management, Faculty of Development studies at LUANAR. She is a Centre leader for the Africa Centre of Excellence in Transformative Agriculture Commercialisation and Entrepreneurship (TACE), that is, at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture & Natural Resources (LUANAR). At TACE collaboration and evidence driven decisions support commercialisation processes to deliver value to society. Sera, is self motivated with over 20 years experience in training, research, designing and implementing grants and providing advisory support for ecosystem actors within the agribusiness sector. Sera a Michigan State University (MSU) Innovation Scholar Programme(ISP) Fellow, who championed establishment of a university based business incubator to nurture innovative agribusiness ideas for the youth to create jobs. Sera has supported faculty at Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST);and Makerere University College of Agricultural Sciences in Uganda, in application of human centred design approaches in training and research. She is applying the approach to design how a public university within the Malawi entrepreneurial ecosystem can best support with commercialisation of technologies and innovations. She is a fellow of the Food Systems Research Network for Africa (FSNet-Africa). Her areas of interest are in agribusiness financing models and market systems, with a bias on youth led interventions, and capacity building. To complement her professional experiences with practice, she is a partner of an integrated poultry enterprise.
