Mirriam Matita has a PhD in Economics from the University of Malawi. Her research interest includes the application of microeconomics in agriculture policy, commercialization, social protection, food and nutrition security, food systems, technology diffusion, livelihoods and poverty analysis. Her research experience includes conducting impact evaluation of the Malawi farm input subsidy program, longitudinal tracker surveys on smallholder farmer commercilisation and its outcomes as well as investigating drivers of food choice in Malawi. Prior to joining the University, she worked with local and international NGOs in Malawi. She has skills in both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis including hand-on experience using Atlas TI and STATA.
