Vincent is a visionary and dynamic academic leader with over 12 years of experience in higher education service delivery, project management, resource mobilization, and collaborative research capabilities. Currently, he is serving as a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of Department at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) in Malawi. He is responsible for driving the research agenda for the university and coordinates all postgraduate research at the department in collaboration with the Directorate of Research and Outreach (DRO) and Dean of Postgraduate Studies. He performs key roles in the design and management of several research projects that contribute to strengthening capacity for teaching, research and outreach as well as resource mobilization. Currently he is the Partner Investigator for a multi-country collaborative research and capacity building project (2024 - 2026) titled: “Leveraging Partner University Collaboration to Strengthen Research Capacity in Food Science and Nutrition Graduate Training to Address Resource Constraints in Africa”. This project is funded through Michigan State University (MSU) and Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) and is in Malawi, USA and South Africa. He plays key research and project management roles on Nutrition for Health Activity which is a capacity building program (2022 - 2026) at LUANAR financed by USAID (US$ 4,440,738.56). Recently Vincent was part of a team that developed and implemented AquaFish project that was financed (US$6,000,000.00) by the World Bank through Malawi Government (2018 - 2023). This was a research and innovation Africa Centre of Excellence (ACE) aimed at improving higher education, industry partner collaboration, and strengthening research knowledge and skills in Malawi and the region. This project contributed to improving food and nutrition security and enhanced economic resilience in Africa through sustainable aquaculture and fisheries. Vincent has demonstrable experience in understanding donor policies and priorities, project timelines, and procedures, and implementing risk mitigation strategies. He is capable of coordinating with project stakeholders, including principal investigators, research teams, implementing partners, and relevant government stakeholders. Vincent received a doctorate degree in Food Science from Stellenbosch University in South Africa, an MSc in Food Science and Human Nutrition, and a BSc in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Malawi. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Malawi College of Accountancy (MCA) focusing on organizational leadership, project management, entrepreneurship, and financial management.
