Dr. Josephine Marion Zimba-Chirwa is a Lecturer in Environment and Development. She possesses a PhD in Environmental Geography and Earth Sciences at the University of Glasgow with particular focus on situated resilience to climate change. In her postgraduate research, she has focused on how rural and urban communities are affected by environmental challenges and the ways in which they respond to such challenges. She is currently a member of the National Technical Committee on Climate Change. Besides teaching, she is involved in working with rural communities on environment, agriculture and environmental issues. Key is increasing communities’ resilience to environmental shocks.
