About Mr. Barrettie Kondowe

Barrettie Kondowe is the programmes Accountant for Bunda College, Programmes Coordinating Office now LUANAR he is mainly responsible for Norwegian Government Grants to Malawi including Bunda Capacity Development Programme (BCDP) a fund for Staff and students capacity building at Bunda College,a NOK 81.0 Million (US$13.5 Million) from 1998 – 2010 and The Agricultural Research Development Programme (ARDEP), a national programme governed by national structures of Management and ARDEP Board. With a total funding of NOK 35.0 Million (US$5.8million) from 2005 - 2012. Currently, he is responsible for the finances of programmes coordinated at PCO,namely Capacity for Managing Climate Change (CABMACC), Bunda Infrastructure Development Programme (IDP) to the tune of NOK60million (US$7.2million) and NOK 65million (US$7.8million) respectively financed by Norwegian Government, and the Skills Development Programme (SDP) financed by world bank through a loan to Malawi Government for US$8.0 million which is three to four years starting from July 2015.

In addition, he is also responsible for Southern Africa Regional Innovation programme supported by USA Federal Government since July 2014. Barrettie has also managed the finances of many short term but significant projects that were coordinated through the office ,such projects include: RUFORUM for Bunda College Staff and students’ capacity building and networking with regional universities, AIDA for research in wetlands funded by European Union, Waste for Wealth Project for research in districts and cities funded by UNIDP through Lilongwe city assembly, Eco Health Project for research and capacity building funded by International Development Research Council (IRDC),CTA – ASTI Systems funded by CTA in Netherlands and His professional qualifications include an Advanced Accounting Certificate ,PAEC Diploma in Accounting and a degree in Accounting he has previously worked for the Holy Family Hospital as Assistant Accountant and at Lotus motors as a Senior Accounts Assistant, he has served as an advisor to a Non Governmental Organization, Trustees of Agricultural Promotion Programme (TAPP) on Financial matters and producing the quarterly, half and Annual Financial reports.
