About Kelvin KUPAZA
I am an agribusiness management professional committed to supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in agriculture to build sustainable businesses and resilient value chains. My work and interests sit at the intersection of enterprise development, market systems, and climate-smart agriculture, with a strong focus on inclusive growth for rural communities. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness Management from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) and completed an 11-month international agriculture apprenticeship in Israel, where I gained hands-on experience across crop production, irrigation and fertigation systems, orchard and vegetable value chains, and post-harvest and packing house operations. This exposure strengthened my understanding of how efficient production, technology, and market linkages translate into viable agribusinesses. I am particularly interested in value chain development and agricultural SME support, including business model development, productivity improvement, market access, and sustainability integration. I believe that strengthening agricultural SMEs is one of the most effective pathways to improving rural livelihoods, food security, and climate resilience, especially in developing economies like Malawi. Alongside my agribusiness background, I bring experience and growing interest in research, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and evidence-based programming, enabling me to link field realities with data-driven decision-making and learning. I seek to contribute to and lead initiatives that empower agricultural SMEs, youth, and farmer-led enterprises to participate competitively in inclusive, climate-smart markets and to build value chains that are economically viable, environmentally sustainable, and socially impactful.
