Currently, the Department offers two undergraduate program (Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Management and Bachelor of Science in Enterprise Development and Microfinance) and one postgraduate programme (Master of Science in Agribusiness Management).
The Department will soon start offering a Bachelor of Arts in Cooperative Management Studies and a PhD in Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship.
Apart from the academic courses, the Department also offers a wide range of services which include but are not limited to the following.
The Department offers a wide range of tailor-made capacity building packages for individuals, groups of individuals and extension service delivers in agribusiness management, cooperative development, enterprise development, microfinance, leadership, entrepreneurship, risk management, financial modelling and management, value-chain analysis and many more. The Department has training modules in business planning, financial management, entrepreneurship, leadership and management that are applicable to all sectors and have been tested across the different set-ups.
The Department has competent development practitioners that have been involved in developing and testing a wide range of concepts and strategies through research. These include microfinance, financial management, enterprise and cooperative development, investment analysis, food security concepts, mainstreaming of energy and forests in food security, education (formal and non – formal among others)
The Department conducts project evaluations, baseline studies, participatory situation analyses, and topical research using both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
The Department offers facilitation services in group formation and development (including formation of clubs, association), strategic planning, business plans developments and many more.
