The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), Bunda Campus, was closed on 13th December 2017 following illegal demonstrations by the students on 7th, 8th and the night of 12th December 2017 where students damaged property belonging to the University, staff members and the public.

The University Management would like to inform its students that the Campus will re-open on 22nd January 2018. Management would like to further advise that all the students are supposed to re-register for the semester and that the conditions for re-registration for every student are as below:

1) Payment of MK3,400.00 as contribution towards replacement/repairing property destroyed and damaged during the illegal demonstrations. This amount should be deposited into the Bunda Fees Account No: 2175762 held at National Bank of Malawi, Lilongwe Service Centre by Friday 19th January 2018. Students are required to present the receipt/bank deposit slip for them to be considered for re-registration.
2) Signing a consent letter that they will abide by the existing rules and regulations of the University which include the University Act, the Statutes and the Students Rules and Regulations among others.
3) Presentation of proof that they have paid not less than 50% of the Annual fees. Those on Government Loan should show proof that they have been granted a loan. This information can be obtained from the Central Registry.

Students who fail to meet any one of the conditions set out above will not be re-registered and will not be allowed to be on campus.
