Vacancy: ICT Technicians
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the above vacant position at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Bunda Campus.


The ICT Technicians will mainly work in the Luanar ICT Centre, which is the centre for all ICT activities of the University. The ICT Technicians shall be assigned to Bunda Campus and It will be expected that they be staying at the Campus.

Qualifications
The qualifications required for this post is Diploma in Computer Science, or Information Technology, or Electronics or any equivalent qualification from a recognized academic institution. Those with professional certifications in Networking, Microsoft products, Electronics, Audio/Visual Media Production, Wireless Networks or Linux/Unix will have an added advantage.

Personal Profile
• Must be willing to work on shifts early in the morning or late at night
• Must have a good understanding of operating systems and networking
• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Open Office Suite products
• Must be security conscious
• Must be an honest individual with sober habits
• Must be willing to learn and capable of quickly adapting to new technologies and business processes
• Must have excellent customer service skills
• Must have the ability to continue servicing clients even when there is a partial technology failure
• Experience as an IT Technician or Customer Help role will be a distinct advantage

Responsibilities
• Support the configuration and use of Audio/Visual equipment for University activities, especially teaching and learning
• Maintain the network (cable and wireless) and the computer systems
• Ensure that the software (Operating Systems, Antivirus, etc) on all the systems are always updated
• Maintain computer hardware on all systems, making sure it is functioning and up to standards.
• Clean electronic systems regularly
• Assist with all documentation activities
• Maintain standards compliance
• Train users, clients and peers
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time
