Dr. Beatrice Mtimuni today received an honorary award from Her Excellency Madam Dr. Getrude Mutharika for her significant contribution to Human Nutrition in Malawi. Dr. Mtimuni has dedicated more than 40 years of her life to the improvement of Human Nutrition in Malawi through Teaching, Research and Outreach.

Dr. Mtimuni who is an Associate Professor in Human Nutrition at LUANAR received this well deserved award on the opening day of the International food and nutrition research dissemination conference which has been organized by the Department of Nutrition, HIV and AIDS in collaboration with Academic and Research Institutions. The purpose of this conference is to provide a platform where members can share recent research findings of food and nutrition and how they contribute to a healthier and more productive nation.

Among other things LUANAR’s Faculty of Food and Human Sciences will be showcasing some of its technologies, products, posters etc. as well as presenting oral papers at the conference which runs till Thursday the 27th October 2016 at the Bingu International Conference Centre.
